Christmas Peach

Those turkeys are getting fatter, the national grid is creaking under the strain of powering festive lights and the German Market has set up in Brum, it can mean only one thing, Christmas is on it’s way.

So here in the warmth of the Ginger Peach kitchens we’ve been busy coming up with a range of sweet goodies to keep you going through these cold days ahead. We’ll be posting some pics of our Christmas cakes & biscuits very soon, so keep checking back and don’t forget to wipe that drool off your chin.

Calling all peaches….

Things are very busy here in Ginger Peach land, in fact so busy we could really do with some help. So, we’re looking for someone who could be available on a Friday to help with the general bakery and all that that entails. Enthusiasm and a willingness to ‘get stuck in’ more important than experience although if you are a master baker let us know. Montessori Call Up Ginger Peach

Ginger Peach are the sole suppliers of cake to the Montessori Nursery in Moseley, Birmingham. The orders have already started to flow so many thanks to all at the nursery

Stirchley Community Market

We missed the first market last month so we made a point of getting down to this one.

Just off of the Pershore Road on your way into Stirchley you’ll find the Stirchley Community Market and what a fine little market it is too. There are stalls selling tempting treats from cake to pizza baked in a clay oven, local artists selling prints, bags and comics as well as the South Birmingham Food Cooperative with exotic ingredients and info. There are also plant & flower stalls as well as antiques and T-Shirts (Yummy Brumie being my fave.) The Soul Food Project from Kings Heath’s Hare & Hounds were also there providing some very aromatic hot food.

It’s still early days for this market but all the signs point to this being one to watch out for as it grows each month. So look out for it on the last Tuesday of each month and get down there for a taste of the hidden Birmingham.

Sadly there is no Ginger Peach presence there as yet but we are badgering for a stall, maybe some of your guys could lend some support and contact the market about it?

Stirchley Community Market

Courgette.

Courgette cake is now available at the MAC in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham. This is a wonderful new recipe that delights with every bite so get munching.

Staffing……

We were hit with a staffing bombshell this morning but within a couple of texts it was all sorted, phew! So good luck to Kathryn’s husband in his new job and big, big thanks to Amanda and Carol for stepping into the breach.

ASDA in Kings Heath, Birmingham.

Here at Ginger Peach we’re always on the look out for new outlets for our scrumptious cakes, after all we want to give you guys out there every opportunity to sample what we do here. So when one of our friends told us that our local ASDA was looking for locally made produce we were in there like a flash.

We met the manager this morning and he was suitably impressed when we told him that we supplied cakes to the Midland Arts Centre and he’s going to have a ponder about the possibility of taking some of our cakes. You guys out there could do us a great favour here if when you’re in there just as if they have any locally produced cakes, any cakes that are dairy free or gluten free and you never know we could be supplying them in the future if they feel there is a demand for it.

Doing the mash potato.

The orders continue to roll in from the Mac but this time there’ll be something a little unusual on offer in their wonderful cafe. Having tried a sample we sent them they have now ordered Lemon Mash Potato Cake! This a wonderful light, moist cake similar to cheesecake (without the base) and suitable for most people including those of you on gluten free diets. Try a slice and let us know what you think.

Ginger Peach Live!

This Sunday, 27 June, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. you will be able to meet Ginger Peach and buy some of our simply delicious cakes. Many of you have already sampled our wares at the Mac in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham and have fallen in love with slices of our scrumptious cakes, now is your chance to buy a whole cake. Just think, you could share it with family and friends in the comfort of your own home or gorge on it all by yourself behind closed doors.

We will be selling Apple & Sultana Loaves, Vegan Chocolate Cake (one of our best sellers,) Carrot Cake, Ginger Peach, Lemon Curd Cake, Lemon Polenta, Brownies, Ginger Bread Men and of course the ubiquitous Cup Cakes. So come along and treat yourselves to a world of cake.

Don’t forget that we also take private orders and can cater our cakes to your every need.
